Fad Diets
Fashion and lifestyle magazines are going ga-ga over all those fad gimmicky diets that are ruling the roost in tinseltown. Fad diets are endorsed by all those waif thin Hollywood celebrities and usually popularized by size 0 movie heroines and skinny models, who are obsessed with the way they look.
The problem with fad diets is that they are not very healthy/balanced and concentrate on the intake of only one kind of food, while eliminating other varieties of food almost completely. Most of these gimmicky diets thrive on marketing blitz and celebrity endorsements.
South Beach Diet
South beach diet is more healthy than low carb diets such as THE ZONE and ATKINS DIET. South beach diet is targeted at diabetic or heart patients who need to lower their cholesterol and completely cuts out simple carbohydrates like ordinary bread, pasta, sweets etc. Consumption of complex carbohydrates such as lean protein, lean fat, fruits, vegetables, whole grains is the focus of this diet.
Atkins Diet
This one is a low carb, high protein diet. This diet will allow you to consume as much fat as you want, but carbohydrate consumption will almost be nil. This will ensure dramatic weight loss for sure. But it will also weaken the body and make you less energetic.
Miami Diet
No wonder it has been named HOLLYWOOD 48 HOUR MIRACLE DIET. It is completely natural and ensures loss of up to 10 pounds in only 2 days besides cleansing your system.
It is basically a detox diet consisting of a special scientifically formulated MIRACLE JUICE that blends in essential oils, antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, essential fruits, natural purees etc that will detoxify your body and digestive system and rid it of fat.
Raw Food Diet
This one is basically a vegetarian regimen concentrating on the consumption of only uncooked food like seeds, nuts, beans, vegetables and fruits. There is a lack of necessary protein and fat in this frugal diet plan. No sane man can survive on it.
General Motors Diet
Another low carb low fat diet that concentrates on fruits like melons, watermelons, loupe(except bananas), vegetables, 10 glasses of water, fruit juices, brown rice and bread, a bit of beef, milk etc . It is a 7-day graduated diet that will ensure a loss of 10-17 pounds at the end of the week.
Doctors would definitely not recommend fad diets. Rather make it a rule to include olive oil, spinach, fish, whole-grain breads, pink grapefruit, loads and loads of all varieties of green and colored vegetables and fruits, fruit juices, plenty of water, lean meat, lean fat in your diet, eat 5 small meals a day instead of 3 huge ones, eliminate red meat, butter, clarified butter, junk food, sweets, chocolates, aerated drinks from your regimen and stop snacking in between meals. This will ensure a healthy weight loss. Drink a glass of warm lime water mixed with honey, first thing in the morning and replace ordinary artificial beverages with green tea.
